PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES

Meets at 10 am, on the

SECOND Thursday of the month.

The Planes Trains and Automobiles group met for the April meeting and enjoyed some great discussions on the subjects of cars and planes. They looked at highlights of The Shanghai Motor Show held in 2009, seeing the great advances made by China in the last 26 years.

They meet on the second Thursday of the month at 10:00 am and would welcome anybody interested in the group.

The group is taken by Harry Friedlander, a fully qualified automotive engineer, who is still working part-time in the industry and his other intense interest is aircraft and air shows.

The group meets in Harry's home.

If you are interested in joining the group, please send me an email: hdfriedlander@gmail.com

“Acclaimed American playwright, Tennessee Williams penned emotional powerhouse hits like "A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE," "BABY DOLL," "CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF" and "SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER" but it was his tender and  autobiographical ”memory" play, "THE GLASS MENAGERIE," that catapulted him from obscurity to international fame.

THE GLASS MENAGERIE  follows a family trapped by dreams and delusions in 1930s St Louis. Times are tough. Amidst the turmoil of a changing world, solo mother, Amanda Wingfield, a faded Southern belle, is hellbent on finding a better future for her emotionally fragile daughter, Laura, while her restless son, Tom, is caught between his duty to his family and his desire for freedom.

Deftly blending humour and pathos and suffused with the eloquent poetic language that became Tennessee Williams’ trademark, "THE GLASS MENAGERIE" is an achingly beautiful study of four people struggling to conform to the expectation of others.” – Circa web site.
