The third day of Spring was a beautiful day, and the Walking Group used their Gold Cards to take the train to Paekakariki and walk to the beach. Then enjoyed a lunch at Finns Cafe.

A cold, but sunny June morning saw the Walking Group well wrapped up for their walk and coffee.

Members used their Gold Cards to go by bus, train and another bus to get to Titahi Bay.

It was a sunny day, but a cold wind, as can be seen by the jackets and hats.

15 members of the Walking Group enjoyed a walk, coffee and chat at a local cafe, making the most of the sun.

Visit to see The Glass Menagerie at Circa Theatre

7.00 pm Wednesday 18th February, 2026

“Acclaimed American playwright, Tennessee Williams penned emotional powerhouse hits like "A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE," "BABY DOLL," "CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF" and "SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER" but it was his tender and  autobiographical ”memory" play, "THE GLASS MENAGERIE," that catapulted him from obscurity to international fame.

THE GLASS MENAGERIE  follows a family trapped by dreams and delusions in 1930s St Louis. Times are tough. Amidst the turmoil of a changing world, solo mother, Amanda Wingfield, a faded Southern belle, is hellbent on finding a better future for her emotionally fragile daughter, Laura, while her restless son, Tom, is caught between his duty to his family and his desire for freedom.

Deftly blending humour and pathos and suffused with the eloquent poetic language that became Tennessee Williams’ trademark, "THE GLASS MENAGERIE" is an achingly beautiful study of four people struggling to conform to the expectation of others.” – Circa web site.
